How to deal with an oily T-zone

The forehead, nose and chin make up the T-zone of your face and generally tend to be oiler than the rest of your face. This results in combination skin that is not impossible to take care of but needs some tender care.

An oily T-zone gives the central part of your face a shiny and oily glow, resulting in blotchy makeup and uneven complexion. Here are a few remedies that you can try at home to deal with an oily T-zone.

1. Keep your pores unclogged

The first rule to maintaining an oil free T-zone would be to properly clean and exfoliate your pores so that they do not get clogged and accumulate dust and oil. Gently scrub your pores and use a mild facial cleanser to keep the dead skin and dirt out.

2. Wash your face multiple times a day

Your T-zone secretes a lot of oil when you are sleeping and this needs to be removed from time to time. Try to wash your face at least five times a day so that any excess oil that your skin does not need will not settle ad can be easily eliminated, while your skin can be cleansed.

3. Moisturize

Most people feel that using face creams will further make their face oilier, but that isn’t true. In fact, leaving it dry will only make your skin secrete more oil and aggravate your problem. Use a water based moisturizer that is non comedogenic and oil free to handle this problem and maintain an even skin.

4. Create your own home remedy

Mix a teaspoon of lemon juice with a teaspoon of rose water and apply to your T-zone twice a day. It will naturally reduce shine and also works well as a toner to unclog pores.
